Terms and Conditions

Effective date: September 4, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ScoreStory mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility and registration

ScoreStory registration is open and does not require an invitation. The Services are currently intended for adults. You must be legally able to enter into these Terms and must provide accurate account information. Referral codes are optional, may be used only as intended, and do not create a right to continued access.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. Do not share credentials, create an account for someone else without authorization, or attempt to claim another person’s identity. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Shared match records

ScoreStory maintains one canonical record for a match. A participant may submit a result, and other authorized participants may confirm it, request a correction, or reject an incorrect identity tag. Confirmed integrity fields may require a new revision and fresh confirmation when edited.

You agree to submit match information honestly and to respect other participants’ right to review it. ScoreStory does not act as an official governing body, referee, ranking authority, or dispute-resolution service. Match records are social memories and are not guaranteed to be suitable for official competition, wagering, employment, or legal purposes.

4. Your content

“Your Content” means information you submit to the Services, including scores, notes, comments, reactions, venue details, profile information, and photos. You retain ownership of Your Content.

You grant ScoreStory a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and display Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Services. This license includes displaying shared match information to authorized participants and displaying confirmed result cards through share links you create. It ends when the content is deleted from our systems, except where continued retention is permitted by these Terms or our Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit Your Content and that doing so does not violate law, privacy, publicity, copyright, or another person’s rights.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

6. Safety and reporting

The Services include blocking and reporting controls. We may investigate reports and remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or preserve information when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, or enforcement. These tools do not replace emergency services. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local authorities.

7. Share links

You may create a revocable link to a limited confirmed result card. Anyone with the link may be able to view and copy the card until the link is revoked. Do not share a link where doing so would violate another person’s rights or reasonable expectations. Revocation prevents future access through that link but cannot retrieve copies already made.

8. Intellectual property

The Services, including the ScoreStory name, logo, software, design, and non-user content, are owned by ScoreStory or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services while these Terms remain in effect.

9. Service availability

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features as the Services evolve. Data may be corrected, restored, or removed when reasonably necessary for security, integrity, or legal compliance. We will use reasonable care, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every defect will be fixed. Keep your own copy of information that is especially important to you.

10. No sports or medical advice

ScoreStory records information you provide. It does not provide coaching, medical, fitness, safety, officiating, or professional advice. Participation in sport involves risk. Use appropriate judgment, equipment, supervision, and qualified professional advice for your circumstances.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services or delete your account through the app by following our account-deletion instructions. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, compromise the Services, or if the Services are discontinued. Where practical, we will provide notice. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and quiet enjoyment. We do not warrant that records submitted by users are accurate or that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScoreStory and its operators, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the Services. For the free Services, our total liability for claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Services in the preceding 12 months or USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so part of this section may not apply to you.

14. Changes to the Services or Terms

We may change the Services and update these Terms. We will post the revised Terms and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably practical. Continuing to use the Services after updated Terms take effect means you accept them.

15. General terms

If a provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement concerning the Services.
